Congregational Godparent Program

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, and they also demand our constant care. If we can share that burden within our church, then we will always share in the manifold joys of this divine gift.” Rev. Christopher Nuttleman, Lutheran Witness-December 2024; The Family of the Last Adam.

The members at St. John's Lutheran Church love the families and children in our congregation. A Congregational Godparent is a member of the church who agrees to provide faithful support to the child and family through prayer and other ways of caring. This doesn’t take the place of parents or of other godparents, grandparents, or any other family members. From Baptism and beyond, it places another person in a child and their family’s church life.
